Okay so as you may know from my 1st post…..I am now stuck with horrible ball of the foot pain since I had hammertoe surgery (2 years ago). I used to be able to wear high heels with no problem. Post surgery…it’s a whole different story. I love heels!!! It kills me that I am now limited! Well….maybe I can’t wear whatever I want now, but I have found that I can wear heels with a platform. Maybe not all day and all night…but if I can stand them for a couple hours, it speaks volumes for this style shoe. It allows you to still wear a sassy heel height without putting your foot at such an angle.
Now I know there are some crazy platforms out there….but there are some fairly conservative ones too. By conservative I just mean wearable for business situations….or maybe you don’t want to draw attention to a fierce platform. Since this style is my only hope….I will keep you posted on where I find some great ones. Some that I’ve found recently (and are pretty inexpensive)…. are Steve Madden with a variety of styles…I especially like the “Dreem” open toe sling back. Zara also has some great incognito platforms (ranging from conservative to funky)….and Bebe has crazy, fun , and affordable platform heels!
Luckily this platform style is very popular right now, so they are easy to find. Also, I am learning the value of a great shoe repair. Often they can add foam padding to your heels. T.O. Dey in NYC has helped me with my dance shoes. It makes all the difference. So treat your feet right…and enjoy!

While it is still winter, I have to tell you about “Fit Flop” Boots. I have the “Inuk” style. They look similar to UGG’s ….but cuter. They are cushy like their flip-flops, which is great considering how much pain I have in the balls of my feet. So, if they are comfortable for me, I figure they will be even more comfortable for others. I went up half a size for the boots, whereas the flip-flops I go half a size down. Check them out!
